Have you ever wanted to experiment with colour? Or try something outlandish for a special occasion? At R.C HQ we recently held a photoshoot to showcase the beauty in avant-garde styling and vibrant colours!

We love experimenting with different styles and desperately wanted to show you that there is no limit to our teams creativity!

So what is ‘avant-garde’ styling?

‘The avant-garde (from French, "advance guard" or "vanguard", literally "fore-guard") are people or works that are experimental or innovative, particularly with respect to fashion, art, lifestyle or culture. The avant-garde pushes the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo.’

POP POP POP

Drawing upon inspiration from pop culture and artist Andy Warhol, our Head Stylist Rebecca created this short cut. Infused with red, blue and yellow hues, the diverse colours palette adds a new dimension to the simplistic crop.

Influenced by the punk culture that engulfed the 60’s, our client coifed mane has been styled into a braided mohawk using our Shine & Glow Pudding.

THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA

For this design, Rebecca was inspired by the leaning tower of Pisa. The popular Italian tourist attraction is recognised around the world for its slanted stance. Drawing on this, red and blue hair strands were added to complement the purple tower and add further height and character to the style.

Embellished with pearls and diamonds, this style makes a statement.

FLOWER GARDEN

This braided style explores different textures and techniques. The braids were shaped into floral patterns, blue tones were added to the look to create the illusion of leafs. We didn’t want to leave it there - we incorporated different elements with diamonds detailing and a zip detail at the back.
